What is a Meta Solution Partner on WhatsApp?
The WhatsApp partner type with its own credit line: it pays Meta for clients' messages and invoices them, and can share clients with Tech Providers.

Definition
Solution Partner: A Solution Partner is a Meta Business Partner approved for the WhatsApp Business Platform that has a credit line with Meta. It onboards businesses through Embedded Signup, pays Meta for the messages its clients send, and bills those clients itself. It is what the market usually calls a BSP. A Solution Partner can also lend its credit line to a Tech Provider's clients through a Multi-Partner Solution.
Also called: BSP, WhatsApp Business Solution Provider, Meta Business Partner (messaging)
What makes a Solution Partner different
The deciding feature is the credit line. Meta extends credit to the Solution Partner, and the partner attaches that credit to its clients' WhatsApp Business Accounts. Meta then invoices the partner, not each client. A Tech Provider has no such line, so its clients pay Meta themselves.
Being a Meta Business Partner also lifts the onboarding cap. By default a provider can add 10 new business customers per rolling 7 days, 200 after verification steps, and more only as a Meta Business Partner.
What clients get from a Solution Partner
- One invoice, usually with Meta charges and the partner's own fees together, often in INR.
- No card needed on the WhatsApp account, which suits businesses whose cards Meta declines.
- Escalation help with restrictions, rejected templates and verification. Meta still makes the final decisions.
The trade-off: you depend on the partner's terms, payment schedule and markup on Meta's charges. Ask for these in writing, and check Meta's own pricing page to compare.
Example
Rangoli Home, a Jaipur décor brand run by Meera, sends order updates and festive offers. Her finance team wants one GST invoice a month, not card charges in USD. She signs up with a Solution Partner, whose credit line is attached to Rangoli Home's WhatsApp account during onboarding. Each month the partner pays Meta and invoices Rangoli Home. The account itself stays in Meera's own business portfolio, so she can move later if she needs to.
Solution Partner, Tech Provider or both?
| You want | Look for |
|---|---|
| Software plus one invoice for Meta charges | A Solution Partner, or a Tech Provider in a Multi-Partner Solution |
| Software only; you pay Meta by card | A Tech Provider |
| To build your own WhatsApp app for clients | Become a Tech Provider; a credit line needs partner status |
Broadchat is not a Solution Partner or Meta Business Partner. It is a white-label platform on the official Cloud API, not affiliated with or endorsed by Meta, and Meta billing works through the client's own payment method or a Solution Partner's credit line. Frequently asked questions
Is every WhatsApp API provider a Solution Partner?
No. Many platforms are Tech Providers without a credit line, and many resellers are neither; they sell someone else's platform under their brand. Ask a provider directly whether it bills Meta charges itself.
Do Solution Partners charge more than Meta?
Some add a markup to Meta's charges and some do not; it is the partner's own commercial choice. Compare their rate card against Meta's published rates for the same date.
Can I leave a Solution Partner and keep my number?
Yes, if the WhatsApp account is in your own business portfolio. You add your own payment method or another partner's credit line, and share the account with the new partner.
