Features

What you get with WhatsApp Chatbot

  • Visual flow builder

Connect steps on a canvas: send messages, ask questions, branch, wait and jump. Unsaved changes are flagged so nothing gets lost.

  • Flexible triggers

Start a flow on any new message, on matching keywords, on hot keywords that restart it at any time, or on new and updated ecommerce orders.

  • Rich messages

Text, images, video, documents, reply buttons, lists, templates, products and locations, all from the same builder.

  • Questions that fill your CRM

Ask for a name, email, choice, image or location and save the answer straight to a contact field for segments and follow-ups.

  • AI router and agents

Let AI detect intent and branch the flow, or answer from a knowledge base. Use your own OpenAI, Gemini or Groq keys.

  • Human hand-off

Assign the chat to an agent or department at any step. The conversation continues in the shared inbox with full history.

Automation that knows when to stop

The best WhatsApp bots answer the easy questions instantly and pass the rest to people. Broadchat makes the hand-off part of the flow, not an afterthought.

  • Assign to an agent or department from any step
  • Keep a “talk to a person” option in every menu
  • Agents see everything the bot collected
  • Hot keywords let customers restart at any time

AI where it helps

Use AI to understand free-text messages and to answer from your own content, while keeping structured flows for things like bookings and payments.

  • AI router branches on what the customer means, not exact words
  • AI agents trained on your knowledge base
  • Speech-to-text for voice notes
  • Bring your own OpenAI, Gemini or Groq keys

Connected to the rest of your stack

Bots can trigger automations, update contacts and react to store events.

  • Order created and order updated triggers for store orders (WhatsApp carts, API and manual orders)
  • Automation app steps and webhooks
  • Smart wait, goto and variable steps for advanced flows
  • Contact fields and tags updated as the chat progresses

FAQ

WhatsApp Chatbot: frequently asked questions

Do I need coding skills to build a WhatsApp chatbot?

No. Flows are built on a visual canvas by connecting steps. Advanced options such as webhooks and variables are there when you need them, but not required.

Can the chatbot use AI?

Yes. An AI router step can understand free-text messages and branch the flow, and AI agents can answer from a knowledge base you provide. You can connect your own OpenAI, Gemini or Groq API keys.

Can customers talk to a real person?

Yes. Add an assign-to-agent step anywhere in the flow. The chat moves to the shared team inbox with the full conversation history.

What starts a chatbot?

A flow can start on any new message, when a message matches a keyword, on hot keywords that restart the flow at any time, or on new or updated ecommerce orders. You can limit a bot to specific channels.

Do chatbot messages cost money?

Replies inside the 24-hour customer service window are service messages. Since 1 October 2026 Meta gives each number 1,000 free service messages a month and charges for service messages after that. Template messages are charged per delivered message by category and country.

Can the bot save information to my CRM?

Yes. Question steps save answers to contact fields, and you can update tags and variables as the conversation progresses.
