Broadchat vs WATI: self-serve inbox or a platform you resell under your brand?
WATI is a self-serve WhatsApp inbox with published plans and a 7-day trial; Broadchat is a white-label platform sold through partners. Here is who each one suits, with dated sources.

In short
WATI is a polished self-serve product: published plans, a 7-day free trial and a ₹999 pay-as-you-go start for India. Its partner programmes pay commissions or discounts and give co-branded assets, but its partner page does not describe a white-label panel. Broadchat is the opposite shape: no self-serve sign-up, but a full white-label panel where an agency sets its own plans, prices and messaging rates. A single business that wants to start today should look at WATI first; an agency that wants its own WhatsApp brand should look at Broadchat.
Verdict
Choose WATI if you are one business that wants to sign up online, try the product for seven days and pay a published monthly price. Its plans are clear, and the ₹999 single-user option is a low-risk way to test the WhatsApp Business API. Watch the user caps: Growth stops at three users and extra seats on Pro and Business cost ₹1,299 and ₹2,199 a month. Choose Broadchat if you are an agency, reseller or software company that wants to sell WhatsApp to clients under your own name. WATI's reseller track pays you for selling WATI; Broadchat lets you sell your own product, on your domain, at your prices. Both connect to Meta's official Cloud API, so delivery rules and Meta's own charges are the same on either.
Choose Broadchat if
Agencies, resellers and SaaS companies that want a branded WhatsApp panel for their clients, with their own plans, prices, payment collection and messaging rates.
Choose WATI if
Single businesses and in-house teams that want a self-serve WhatsApp inbox with published prices, a 7-day trial and a quick start without talking to sales.

The short answer
Broadchat vs WATI is less a feature contest than a choice between two business models. WATI sells a finished product to the business that uses it. Broadchat sells a white-label platform to agencies, which then sell it to their clients. If you are Meera running Sunrise Clinic and need a WhatsApp inbox for three front-desk staff this week, WATI's trial and published plans fit. If you are Arjun running a 12-person digital agency in Jaipur and want twenty clinics on WhatsApp under your agency's name, Broadchat fits.
We build Broadchat, so treat this as a vendor's comparison. We checked WATI's partner page on 12 Oct 2026 and its India pricing page on 1 Nov 2026, and quote only what they say. WATI shows prices by region; the figures here are from the India page in INR.
What WATI does well
- Fast start. Sign up, connect a number and use the product for seven days before paying.
- A cheap first test. The ₹999 Single User plan comes back as message credits (WATI says roughly 500 messages) and lasts three months, which suits a shop owner trying the API for the first time.
- Clear tiers. Each plan lists its broadcast allowance, automation triggers, AI credits and integrations, so you can budget without a sales call.
- CRM connectors at the top tier. Business includes unlimited integrations including Salesforce, useful for larger sales teams.
Where the costs add up on WATI
The user cap is the main thing to model. Growth includes three users and does not allow more, so a fourth agent means moving to Pro. On Pro and Business, extra users cost ₹1,299 and ₹2,199 a month. Shopify is a paid add-on, and extra WhatsApp numbers are priced on request. None of this is hidden, but a team of eight on Pro pays for three extra seats every month on top of the plan.
Meta's own charges come on top of any subscription, on WATI and on Broadchat alike. Since 1 Jul 2025 Meta charges per delivered template message, and since 1 Oct 2026 only the first 1,000 service replies per number per month are free. WATI's pricing page says message charges vary by category and country and links to a rate card; it does not state a markup over Meta's rate. For how Meta's charges work, see WhatsApp API pricing explained.
What Broadchat does differently
Broadchat's client panel covers the same daily work (campaigns, a shared inbox, a chatbot builder, CRM and templates) and adds a few things WATI's pricing page does not list: Rocket campaigns that split one audience across several numbers, an API campaign endpoint, a WhatsApp Flows builder, personalised images and PDFs per recipient, and coexistence for numbers that stay on the WhatsApp Business app.
The bigger difference is the partner panel. An agency sets its logo, colours and its own domain, creates plans and add-ons in INR or another currency, sets a percentage or flat markup over Meta's base rate for each country and category, and collects client payments through its own Razorpay, Stripe, UPI or bank account. Custom domains and own payment gateways need the Growth partner tier; sub-agencies and the Partner API need Enterprise. Read how to start a WhatsApp reseller business for the full model.
Where WATI is the better choice
- You are one business and do not want to deal with a reseller.
- You want to test before paying anything beyond ₹999.
- You need native Salesforce or HubSpot connectors on day one.
- You want a published monthly price that finance can approve without a quote.
Moving from WATI to a Broadchat partner
Your number, display name and WhatsApp Business account sit in your Meta business portfolio, not inside WATI. On Meta's newer account model, the move is done by sharing that WhatsApp account with the new provider; older accounts can still use number migration. Approved templates stay with the account. What does not move is software-side work: chatbots, automations, saved replies and CRM fields need rebuilding, and contacts need a CSV export and import. Do the switch on a quiet weekday and test with your own phone before sending the first campaign.

Frequently asked questions
Does WATI offer a white-label WhatsApp panel?
Not on its partner page as of 12 Oct 2026. WATI lists Value-Added Reseller, Technology and Affiliate programmes that pay commissions or discounts and provide co-branded assets. Broadchat is built as a white-label panel that partners sell under their own brand.
How many users does the WATI Growth plan include?
Three, and WATI's pricing page says no additional users can be added on Growth. Pro and Business include five users, with extra users at ₹1,299 (Pro) and ₹2,199 (Business) a month.
Is Broadchat cheaper than WATI?
They charge different people in different ways. WATI publishes a monthly price per business. Broadchat charges partners a cost price per client account, quoted on request, and each partner sets its own client price. Meta's per-message charges apply on both.
Can I try Broadchat for free like WATI's 7-day trial?
Broadchat does not offer self-serve sign-ups. Partners can switch on a free plan of 3, 5 or 7 days for their own clients, so ask the partner you buy from.
