WhatsApp festival greeting templates for Diwali, Holi, Eid and more
Festival greetings and festive-sale templates for Indian brands, with image headers, offer buttons, Hindi and Hinglish versions, and timing advice for crowded festival weeks.

Before you submit these templates
- Every festival greeting from a business is a marketing template, even without an offer. Submit it as Marketing; Meta recategorises "utility" greetings.
- Submit festival templates two to three weeks early. Meta says review can take up to 24 hours, and a rejected template needs a second review.
- Use your own festive artwork in the image header. Copyrighted film stills, celebrity photos or other brands' logos can get the template rejected or reported.
- Keep greetings respectful and inclusive. Religious content that mocks or targets any community breaks WhatsApp's policies.
- If you include an offer, state its real terms (minimum order, end date) in the body, and make sure the code works for the whole period.
- Create one generic template per festival with variables for the name and offer, rather than many near-identical templates; duplicates are a listed rejection reason.
How to use WhatsApp festive greeting templates
The WhatsApp festive greeting templates on this page are marketing templates for the festivals Indian customers actually celebrate: Diwali, Holi, Eid, Christmas, New Year, Raksha Bandhan, Navratri and Durga Puja, Pongal and Sankranti, Onam, Independence Day and Ganesh Chaturthi. Some are pure wishes, most pair the wish with a useful festive offer or a shipping cut-off date. All of them go only to customers who opted in to marketing messages from you.
A greeting with nothing in it but wishes is still marketing under Meta's categories, because it promotes your relationship rather than reporting a transaction. Plan the cost and your messaging limit accordingly.
Plan festival sends early

Festival dates such as Eid, Diwali and Holi move every year with the lunar calendar. Check the date for the year and region before you schedule.
Avoid the festival-week traps
- Per-user limits. WhatsApp caps how many marketing templates each person receives, based on their engagement. In festival weeks people get many brand messages, so some of yours may fail with error 131049. Do not retry the same person within 24 hours.
- Your messaging limit. A portfolio at the 2,000 tier can reach 2,000 unique customers in a rolling 24 hours. A campaign to 15,000 people will be paced over several days unless your limit is higher; see quality rating and messaging limits.
- Quality. Greetings sent to people who never bought from you, or who opted out, attract blocks that lower your quality rating right before your biggest sales week.
- US numbers. Marketing templates are currently not delivered to +1 US numbers, so NRI customers there need another channel.
Sending festive campaigns from Broadchat
- Create each template in CRM → WhatsApp Templates with the Marketing category and an image header.
- In CRM → Segment, build the audience: customers who opted in to marketing, ordered in the last 12 months and have not tapped your opt-out button.
- Open CRM → Bulk Campaign, choose the template and segment, map the name and offer variables, upload the header image and schedule the send for a sensible hour (10 am to 7 pm). Broadchat paces sends to your number's messaging limit and throughput.
- After the festival, use the campaign report to retarget only people who read but did not reply, instead of resending to everyone.

Yes. Festival greetings from a business are marketing under Meta's categories, even without a discount, because they are not about a specific transaction. Send them only to customers who opted in to marketing.
