Connect your WhatsApp number
Connect a phone number to the WhatsApp Business Platform through Meta’s Embedded Signup.
By Broadchat teamPublished 1 min read
Before you start
- A Facebook login that can manage your business in Meta Business Manager (or create one during signup).
- A phone number that can receive an SMS or voice call for verification. A number already registered in the WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business app must be removed from that app first, unless you connect it through Meta's coexistence option (available in India and other supported countries), which keeps the app working on the same number.
- Your business display name must follow Meta's display name rules. Meta reviews it after the number is connected.
Steps
- In your panel, open Channels → All Channels and click + Add New Channel.
- On the WhatsApp card, choose the Currency for this channel (for example INR). The currency is used for the channel's messaging wallet.
- A Meta window opens. Click Continue with Facebook and log in.
- Select (or create) the Meta Business that will own the WhatsApp account, then create or choose a WhatsApp Business Account.
- Add your phone number, enter the display name and verify the number with the code Meta sends.
- When you see Channel Connected Successfully, click View Channel.
After connecting
- The channel card shows the number status, quality rating, messaging limit, business verification and wallet balance.
- Recharge the channel's conversation wallet before sending templates (see Recharge your wallet).
- New numbers start with a lower daily messaging limit that Meta raises as you send good-quality messages. Completing Meta business verification helps.
